September 2015 - Luxembourg investment fund laws

Compilations of Luxembourg investment fund laws and regulations

Fund professionals now have access to a source book for UCITS and AIFs

In September, Fundsquare’s parent company, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) in cooperation with ALFI released two compilations of texts on investment fund laws and regulations in Luxembourg.

The compilations are available in French, German and English.

Robert Scharfe, Chief Executive Officer of LuxSE, said at their release, “Investment funds are the second largest segment on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, with more than 6,500 listings. As an international exchange serving a global base, these two publications respond to a clear need from the fund industry and provide an essential reference”.

LuxSE and ALFI - UCITS law books

UCITS laws and regulations

This compilation covers undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) established under Luxembourg law and contains the amended law of 17 December 2010 on undertakings for collective investment as well as the main related regulatory texts.

LuxSE and ALFI - AIF law books

AIF laws and regulations

This compilation is dedicated to alternative investment funds (AIFs) established under Luxembourg law and to other investment vehicles which are not UCITS and which may not qualify as AIFs. It contains the amended laws of 12 July 2013, 17 December 2010, 13 February 2007 and 15 June 2004 as well as the main regulatory texts.

These two compilations of texts are the fruit of an active cooperation between two local law firms, Arendt & Medernach and Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen, who compiled the legal and regulatory texts and prepared the English and German translations.
